6 Inch Blocks

Yesterday I got myself organized in the afternoon and spent 2 hours cutting out material.

I find the kitchen table is the easiest place to cut fabric out. Our cats love to lay along the back of the lounge chairs and being fabric, I think it'll be easier to clean a couple of covers.

Figured blocks made into like a mini quilted runner would be good practice for me.

I have picked 4 styles in 6 inch blocks.

Ones I have made already. Finding a hour or 2 in cutting makes it easier then, as I can have a sewing afternoon getting a good rhythm going in sewing.

Pony

I made this little pony last night.
Our neighbour's 18 month old daughter loves Patrick, but cries with me. So I thought I'd try and win her over with a little soft toy.
Ribbon is sown onto the horse and we will take it over late this afternoon and give to her.
Kids can be funny little people at times.....lol. Big kids can be even worse.

Percy Has Moved

The little pink pig has a new home...... the other blog must have had a big problem with it....I could post but not comment, scroll, click on it or anything. Blasted computers.

So he has a new place and a new Blog title........ check it out.

Postcards From Percy

Hexes & Fat Quarters

Yesterday I spent the whole day in the company of some amazing crafty women. I was able to not only show off my work but also see what other people have made or were working on.

It was great putting faces to forum names too.

I arrived home at 5 pm to some mail. One item was my hexagon swap from Geniene. I so love it...and the little cat on the right has beads around her neck. Have no idea how easy this would be to do.

I just love it Geniene and thank you so much for being my swap partner.

On the the place we went at our get together yesterday was to a quilting shop. My first time in one. Must say I was very good and didn't leave slobber trails all around the shop. All these fat quarters were begging to come home to my place.

But I was good and only took 4 home.

The range of colours was so much more impressive than what I thought it was going to be. I was also told there are even better quilting shops than the one we visited in Adelaide.

I think I have a new addiction.... fat 1/4's.

Until next time....

Eat More Chicken

Percy my little pig says, "Eat more chicken".

He was born this afternoon after a relaxing delivery in my sewing room. His pattern can be found with all his farm yard friends in the latest "Country Threads" magazine.

I think he's so cute and plan to add some more of his friends to my sewing room so Percy isn't lonely.

Showing Cushion Swap

Today is opening day for the cushion swap I was involved in over on the craft forum.

There is something exciting about being involved in a swap as I get great enjoyment at swaping and seeing how other people put together their idea.

My cushion was in a recent "Home Made" magazine. I did swap the positions on the flowers around as I wanted the colours to be more balanced. My swapper was Ann.

Ann made me the 2 smaller green cushions and they suit the bedroom so well. Mind you the blue pillow cases behind them don't fit lol in the colour scheme. I made the cushion inserts myself.

I loved the cushion I made for Ann so much, that I am making one fore myself in different colours. At the moment I am sitting in the evenings embroidering a blanket stitch around the applique.

When its all finished, it'll be used in the lounge room.
