Purr-Fect Quilt

All done and finished. After no joke, the whole morning in the sewing room, doing the binding ....the cat's little quilt is finished.

Its my first ever quilt I have made and like most of my projects when learning something new , I start off with a small item.

Close up of the front. I did find the binding of the corners tricky and I am sure if I was shown how to do it in person, it wouldn't have taken as long for me to do.

Back of the quilt....looking very big cat like.

A purr-fect quilt. Pat's Siamese, Harley Davidson and Millie our grand-kitty giving it their paw of approval.

What did I learn while making the quilt?

Never promise your cat a quilt and then not get it finished on the promised day....... cos' when you turn your back in the sewing room....... the cat is sitting on the quilt, while still connected to the sewing machine!!

But seriously, I am so proud of my first quilt. I took my time and I will be making more quilts of different sizes as my skills improve.

A purr-fect quilt it is! What a great job you have done. Love the loo roll as well.

Congrats with your very first finished quilt. That is a great achievement as some quilters never get to complete their first attempt.

Your cats look lovely. They look as though they are enjoying the cat quilt - just like you must have enjoyed making it for them. I would love to add my name in your give-away. Thank you. Keep on stitching and be happy!

Cheers Donna in Brisbane.

Hi Tracy, your blog was one of those I loved to visit before I bought my sewing machine. I even received and DP needle set holder you made, as a give away Think it was last year....

And yes that material stash is growing as easy as my yarn stash....LOL

Lucky cats there but I think you need to make another one or 2 as someone will miss out.

Oh for sure Sally. Need some more backing material. Its being used all the time as the quilt is on my chair, where they sleep through the day. Mostly Harley & Rebel.
